Peavey Max 112 200 watts version : anybody has one or tried it seriously?

I got curious about these... 200 watts, 250$... So I went to a nearby store who only had the 115 model in the showroom and I gave it a shot. I was quite surprised overall, but I'm not a fan of 15 inch speakers and even less of tweeters... and the parts of the sound of that amp I liked less are my usual observations with a 15 inch : less definition in the mid range, more boom than punch... and with a tweeter : harsh(er) high-highs.

So my question is : is the Max 112 different in that field? What's your opinion on these? Is it worth it to bother trying it out? Is there a demo of it online somewhere?

I just ordered on from ZZounds. Should arrive next week & I'll post info on it. To be fair all I have now is a 15w Fender Rumble so I belive almost anything will be an improvement.

Thanks. As for me, to be fair, all I have now is an SVT stack with it's 8x10, so I believe almost anything will sound thin compared to it... but I'll need a small portable combo soon and I don't wanna spend too much so...

I tried one out and posted for some info on the 115 model, no replies. I guess they're just too new for guys to have much experience with them. I have to admit, I was kinda impressed with the tone and with the amount of volume on tap. The only negatives for me is lack of effects loop, pre EQ line out, and no ext speaker jack. My bass player (classic rock, country, and blues) has actually gigged small clubs unmic'd with two PV Basic 112s, slaving one thru the effects loop. One on each side of the drum/riser. Carried 200 head clubs with decent tone for what we play. I could see using a pair of these the same way ... one left in the studio for practice, a second one thrown in the van for smaller clubs where we only mic the vocals. But there's no fx loop. Bummer.
