Peavey Musician 400 opportunity

I'm currently 2nd in line to purchase a Peavey Musician 400 head, Peavey 1x15 cab and some apparently generic 4x10 cab for $250.

If the first guy passes and it comes to me, is this deal worth it? The guy selling is a friend of one of my co-workers and I'd call the assessment of condition reliable.

These were *awful* heads. By awful, I mean REALLY AWFUL.

I wouldn't take one of those heads if someone gave me money to do so.

The cabs might be worth it, but I doubt it...

My uncle is the original owner of one of those Peavey 400 head and matching 215 cab, he still has it.
When I was starting out I borrowed it lots and lots of times, it isn't too bad, and put out decent volume, I think it topped out at 200-225 watts.

There's a guy on my local craigslist listed for $100 just the head.

The old Peavey heads are good starter amps. You can't break them if you try!

a 115 and 410 for $250 with a bonus head that you can use for backup.
