Question Peavey Nitrobass Head & TVX 210 Cab?

Sign in to disble this ad
I found an use Peavey Nitrobass Head & TVX 210 Cab for $500. I am looking to get myself my first rig, and am thinking of going with this. I have done a decent amount of research but would like to know what some people who have played Peavey think about it.

If you have played through either Peavey Nitrobass Head or a TVX 210 Cab then I would love to hear from you! Also, if you have played through Peavey, let me know what you like or dislike about it.

Oh, and do ya figure $500 is reasonable? It was purchased new 3 years ago for $1200 (or so he says.)

LET ME KNOW

Was the NitroBass still in production three years ago? I thought the Tour heads were in place then but I could be wrong.

$500 seems like way too much.

Older/heavier technology. $500 puts you close to lightweight reasonably powerful combo, new (Carvin, GK).

If his price was $250, I'd say give it a try.

I am not up on the current market, but a couple of years ago you could get a Firebass for $200. I'd say that's a fair price for a Nitrobass if it's in excellent condition. I don't know the cab, but I'd think 100-150 might be a decent price.

Those amps have a very decent semi-parametric eq and a reasonable DI, good clean power and are built to last forever. They are heavy, but great deals if your back is not an issue.

New, that head went for about $450 and the cab about 200. I don't think list was even $1200. My memories of my nitro are along the lines of huge, heavy, and over-rated. These days you can get just as much (or more) oomph out of a 2lb GK mb200.

+1 7flat5 I've seen Firebass heads go locally for about $150. You got to be quick to snag one though.

he's either lying to you about the price he paid or he seriously got ripped off,
i bought a new 210tvx when it came out;
it sounded nice. i just couldn't get over the
fact that the cab was made out of osb, so i sold it.
the 210tfx or maybe txf(?) cabs are made out of plywood; the only downside of these
compared to the tvx is that it is covered in rat fur instead of tolex.
