Peavey TKO-80 users help needed The place where my band rehearses has nothing but Peavey TKO-80 amps (in every room). I've tried two of them and get the same results: Fuzzy, ugly, bassey rumble. Not at all the clean sound I get from my Acoustic amp. Last night I turned down all the sliders on the equalizer to minus whatever the max is and got an acceptable thump we could live with. But there must be something I'm missing. What else do you think I could try? I think this is a popular practice amp? We are not loud by the way, (no earplugs needed) so I'm not pushing these amps at all, they just sound ugly. thanks |

Turn up the post all the way and use the pre as a volume. Easy on the bass, heavy on the low mids. |
It's a Peavy. |
Voicing on the old Peaveysis a bit unusual. As CrackBass said pump up the low mids, but bring down the high mids and treble sliders. The voicing makes them brittle sounding if you boost the highs at all. |
OK I'll give this a try at the next rehearsal. thanks |
