| Peavey TNT 115 has power, no sound

I have a Peavey TNT 115 that I bought new about 7 years ago. I used it pretty heavily for about 3 years between gigs, rehearsals, and recording. During that time, I played with an insanely loud band and had to keep that sucker cracked almost constantly just to be heard. Luckily this thing has built-in speaker protection, so the only things that suffered were my sound and everyone's ears. For two years it sat in my room while I started learning how to play upright in college then I busted it out again for about another year of occasionally subbing in rock gigs.
One day, I drive for 8 hours out to Philadelphia only to find that my amp is no longer producing sound. The power light comes on, but there is no signal coming through at all. The click and light hum that usually happen when it's turned on don't happen. There's no crackle as if the speaker blew, plus that sort of thing is usually a memorable incident. If I plug my external speaker into it, sound comes out of that, but still not the main speaker.
Can anyone help me figure out this problem and whether it's worth fixing or not? My plan is to probably just sell it after it's fixed anyway, but I'd like to get as much as I can for it, and be able to tell whoever I sell it to that it works.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you! |
