Peavey TNT 115 Tour

My local music store has one on sale for $360. I need to get a good go to backup instead of lugging my SVT3 and 410hlf to little bar gigs. Thoughts?

Buy it.

I had an old one (130 wts???) that was my main gigging amp for a few years. I haven't seen the new ones, but I know a guy who has one and uses it solo in small gigs, and stacks it on top of another 1x15 in larger gigs. 600 wts should be plenty loud. He brags about it all the time. And, with Peavey's reputation for bullet-proof equipment, it should be a keeper.

Maybe its a sign that I can't find anything about this amp anywhere here on TB or on Google...

If it's lighter than your current rig and you're going to use it for the smaller stuff go for it. Peavey is awesome. Great gigging equipment.

I just traded mine in last weekend for a Genz Benz shuttle combo. The tour is an awesome combo, but it is a little awkward because the handles are side mounted. It is a little on the heavy side too.

LOUD!!!

Even the old ones are loud.

The main reason you don't see much posted about the newer 600 wt TNT's is simply that they are a bit too new. They released much information about them, but they didn't release the amp itself until a few months ago.

I questioned a bassist on the HC forum who had one, and he had nothing but good things to say about it, one of which was that it was plenty loud.

Those are awesome amplifiers. I owned one in 1988. It was loud and a great work horse. It was a little heavy, but great sounding.

I sold it to a friend, and I have missed it ever since.

$360 is a great price for that amp! They are $500 at MF and GC.
Get it before it's gone!

I just picked up a new peavey tour tnt. It is a great amp with alot of volume and bottom end. I would recomend tightening the speaker and all screws and bolts before using it though. I think all equipment coming from the orient suffers from wood shrinkage when they hit our dry climate and found all the screws and bolts loose on mine but it only took 15 min. to solve that and it is now a superb amp.

I've had one for a few months now. My only complaint would be the same as bass player bob above. side mounted handles on a 75 pound amp is a bit awkward, but the sound is great and it's plenty loud!

Agreed, I've been hauling mine around and using a lightweight dolly which works pretty well but still a bit awkward due to the size/shape of the unit. In the process of building a custom roller case for it. Great amp though...very reliable after 6 mos....no issues

I used one for a couple years at a rehearsal. For a rock band we did not rehearse very loud and it was plenty. Not nearly loud enough for a medium sized gig in my opinion. They sound great. I've seen them on CL regularly for about $200. They would never keep up with a thrash metal band.
