Peavey Tour TNT 115 Amp

Recently picked up a 1997 Fender Jazz American Deluxe. Been away from playing anything at all for many years, but recently got bit by the bass bug again. After getting my Jazz, I of course needed an amp. I really wanted an older tube amp, but at the same time, I know I'll never use it much outside of my home or an occasional jam session with friends. Well , yesterday I went into a shop that had some new Peavey amps, along with some older used amps. I ended up bringing a Peavey Tour TNT 115 combo amp home with me. Between all the controls on the amp and bass, I can get pretty much any sound I would ever want, and 600 watts is more than I'll ever need. So, all that being said, how did I do? Any Peavey fans got one of these amps? Will I regret my purchase?

Honestly, if you enjoy it and it fits your needs, then you shouldnt go wrong. Peavey gear is some of the most robust stuff on the market, more than likely it wont let you down.

Congrats on your new amp day.

I don't know why we don't hear more about those combos on this forum, they do seem really cool.

Of course if it sounds good to you and fits your needs, I'm sure you won't regret it. Lot's of Peavey love around these parts!

I love Peavey gear.
That being said, I just sold a Tour TKO115, the 400w version of your amp.
Was easy enough to carry around, and I always had enough volume, usually with more on tap. Also had an extensive yet easy to use control section. Exactly like my MIA 115, in fact.

While it indeed sounded very close to my Combo 115, which is not fun to move, it had a few things I didn't like.

1-Couldn't turn off the tweeter without gutting it.
2-Top mounted controls, this is a personal thing.
3-Not ported. My Combo 115 is front ported , my 410tx cab has a rear port. I like ported combos/cabs.
4-Always tilted it back by accident.
5-Couldn't turn off the tweeter without gutting it.

Great bang for the buck though, and it wasn't a "bring a friend" amp.

Never owned a Peavey, but played through a bunch of them at a music summer camp for kids. Used one at a place where our band rehearsed. Always really liked them.

Crank it, thrash it, play forever.

You're spot on, they are good amps no doubt. I'm just nit picking. A bonus is that every store has one to try basses/pedals thru

Congrats on your new Peavey! I bought my first one in 1979 and have been buying them since. They weigh a ton and can break your toe if you drop them but by God they never die.

I was looking at the TKO version, and I'm curious about what you will think of it after playing it for a while. How well does it put out thump bottom end? Does it have that strong Peavey growl? How is it for moving? Like Grizzey mentioned, does it tip backwards? Were you able to bring out enough bass even though it's a sealed cab? I really love the ported cabs and have a fondness for the older MIA Peavey combos.

Good luck, enjoy your amp!

My Combo 115 DID break my big toe on my right foot when I first got it home! Seems Peavey always delivers on quality, durability, and value.

I would like to add that even though I had complaints, my Tour Tko took some pretty nice beatings, and just came out with scuffs. Total quality, regardless of country of origin.

I would go over it with a screw driver. I had to tighten every screw on mine including the speaker screws. Great amp though and it does have a front port in the bottom corner.

Holy shirt I NEVER noticed that port! I can clearly see it on the Peavey product page. Guess my only issues were the panel and tweeter.
