Peavey Triumph 120 help

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, so I've recently been using a peavey triumph 120 without fail for bass. Now this amp by default is stick in ultragain but thanks to the help of some friends we found that if I just connected a piece of wire from the middle pin to the 3rd bottom pin I could get into the clean channel.

However at a recently practice the amp seemed to go back to to ultra gain, and it looked like the wire fell out. My drummer went to push it in and he said it created a spark on the back of the 6 pin footswitch female end. At this time the front lights for the standby and on died. The amp still works but is stuck in ultragain but I can't switch into the clean with the wire trick. The amp still works, eq still works, just the lights don't come out and channel switching doesn't seem to work anymore.

Does anyone have any ideas, should I just replace the footswitch connection female end? Thank you, sorry I'm not the best with technical amp stuff.

That seems... er, rather dangerous.

Send it back to Peavey for repair if you like the amp and want to continue using it.
