Man, I just traded my Ampeg 115hp and Peavey Tour 700 for a Peavey VB2. I did it at my favorite music store in Chicago with the BEST service, The Music Store on Irving Park rd just east of Kedzie. The staff at the store will fix your stuff so fast and with a smile that you will be shocked when you get the call that your gear is ready and you have just got back home from the store an hour ago. Anyway, my first gig with the VB2 was with an Avatar 212 neo 4ohm cab. It sounded huge and very warm. I really like the sound of tubes. They make my bass fit right in the mix easily and sensually. This is my first all tube head. Yesterday I played at a smaller room where the band gets very loud and I usually have to wear construction worker earplugs. Before yesterday's gig I was a little worried about using my new VB2 with my Carvin BRX210 neo that I usually use at that gig with the bx500. I was worried about the cab not handling the head's power. Oh my God did it sound good.

It wound up being awesome pairing the two. What a sound! This is definetely the best bass sound I had ever achieved in my 10 years as a professional player. The 210 handled Peavey by responding with massive bottom, warmth and definition (for a 210). I had plenty to spare against a very strong handed Gospel chops virtuoso drummer, a loud personal PA toting Sax wailer and a very loud singer and louder keyboard player who have lead feet when it comes to decibel levels. Thanks Peavey, Carvin and "The Music Store" on Irving Park!
