Peavey VB-2 - what cabs u usein'?

Sign in to disble this ad
So I am pretty sure I am buying a Peavey VB-2 to scratch my tube head itch.

My current rig is all TC Electronic including the cabs. The VB-2 will not fit to well on an up-ended RS210 (14" cab width and 24" head width) so I am thinking of looking for another 210, 410 or 212 to use with the VB-2.

Anybody using any of the Avatar cabs??

How about the Peavey 410?

I'm running mine with an Ampeg B410HE 4X10 it barely fits on the top of the cabinet but I'm so happy with my tone I don't care. I should clarify that it fits fine but it does hang off an 1/8 of an inch on both sides.

If it's vintage tube you want, you have to go with the vintage design... Ampeg 8x10... no ports, no tweeters, no problem!!!

Berg NV610 is my current fave. Also sits nicely and sounds awesome on top of my 2 GK Neo 212 cabs. Vb2 rocks!

I'm using my VB2 with an Ampeg V4 4x12 right now. It sounds so big and tubey! I run that clean gain up to 7 and it's hitting the sweet spot for my ears. Great amplifier for a fair price.

Resurrected!

Just wanted to chime in as a recent purchaser of a used VB-2: I'm going to run it through my Bergantino NV215 first, then I'll try it through the NV610.

I had to get one after hearing another band's bassist play his tube amp through my 610; made me realize I wasn't getting the REAL TONE of the amp with my SS pre/power setup.
