I don't own one and you hear more about other 810 brands on this forum. I own an Ampeg 810-E and a Fender 810-Pro both of which are over $1000. GC has fav. reviews which you can read for yorself. The price is only $800 which is attractive. If I owned a Peavey Head, I would consider getting one but that's me. I would try to find one stock in one of the GC stores or any other Mega store and see for yourself. Somebody should post that has one or has had one.......Good luck . . . .

Yeah I've read what few reviews I could find, but there isn't a whole lot of info to be found. Looks like it could be a good deal. I would like to know how it sounds with the vb2 but can't find anything on it.

I'm sure they were designed to be used with their VB-2 and VB-3 heads, and I'm sure they'll be awesome. Peavey gear gets called cheap, but it's probably the only amp brand that will survive with the cockroaches after we're all gone.

I own 2 of them. One has a Peavey Mark IV head on it and the other has a Marshall 2061x tube head on it. Sound very much like the Ampeg 810e. Was suprised how good it sounded through the Marshall. Remembered that the VB810 was voiced for Peavey VB series tube heads. Don't know how they do that, but it sounded real good through that tube head.
The VB810 is a sealed cab with 4 separate 2x10 chambers, like the Ampeg 810e. The cab is finished in that rough to the touch stuff that will scrape you or take paint off walls.
I bought 2 because of a price of $490 each, brand new, delivered. I capitalized on a misprint from an internet store that musicians friend honored.
My brother, that knows nothing about gear, liked the looks of the Peavey over the Ampeg. I also own 2 Ampeg 810e. I was so impressed with the 810e, I had to get another after hearing my first one.

The Ampeg 810. Bought the Peavey for the price and figured it was a good copy of the Ampeg with the sealed cabinet and separate 2x10 chambers. Still, If I was blindfolded, probably couldn't tell which one was being played through.

Are the lows, clarity, and punch about the same?

Yes. To me, these cabs sound about the same. Someone with a better pair of ears could probably hear and identify the difference.
I like the sound of an 8x10 the best. The lows are very tight sounding. The punch is tremendous. It sounds big and deep. A wall of sound on wheels. A cabinet that makes my sound and playing better.

That's what I am looking for. Punch and tight lows. I think the peavey 810 looks to be well made and is a good value. Thanks for the input.
