I've got an old TNT 130. Yes it's a workhorse, and weighs as much as a horse. It's no tube amp though, high end or otherwise. They're worth about $200 US, so I suppose he's in the ballpark.

That thing looks like its been at the bottom of the river since the 80's! But...if its a Peavey, it should still work fine.

I've got a 1980's Combo 300 amp and it's been a pretty good little rig, pretty reliable, the tone is O.K. ( Mississippi Mud ) the amp is pretty heavy, the only issue I had with the older Peavey amps, is the internal Molex Connections, they need to be cleaned and re-tensioned ( they get noisy/intermittent ) but it's an easy fix, I looked at the amp, get a grill cover for the speaker. and some caster wheels, they go for about $200.00 in the US

TNT 130 is a great workhorse. But to compare it to a high end tube amp is a bit over the top.

I wonder if the seller has ever actually played a high end tube amp?

Agreed on both - just another example of a CL crackhead...

They sound exactly the same.

Until you turn them on.

IMO, a TNT 130 is about as far away from sounding like a high end tube amp as it gets.

Some people will say anything to sell their old junk. (not that Peavey is junk, but....)

I have Markbass heads and Bergantino & SWR cabs, and they almost sound as good as a Peavey TNT.
