The perfect "Commuter" rig....

Sign in to disble this ad
Okay gang, we all know about the "mini-rigs of doom" threads that have been around for a while, this would be a different beast. Some of the rigs posted, while nice and small, would still be a bit combersome for some. I quite honestly cant see someone schleping a pair of 45 lb. 1X12s across town on public transportation!

So for the true commuters, lets see what constitutes the best of the "itty bitty, gotta catch the #3 bus crosstown for the gig" rigs!!!!

Hey, even if you don't own it, find picks and post them up! let's see whats out there. Please, no comments about how "this will never compete with a guitarist and hisMarshall fullstack".Let's keep it to rigs that could handle a small to medium sized gig, with or without FOH support.

My B450 could handle a trip across town on a dolly, as long as it was strapped in, and I'm not bringing 2 basses or my GT-6.

I bought a 44 MAGNUM POWER AMP BY electro-harmonix for guitar, etc. I was reading a description that it will also work with bass, keys etc. Its does work with 8ohm or 16ohm cabs. Its is only a small pedal and when connected to one of my Ampeg 210Av(8Ohms) cabs sounds great . Now I am not into small rigs but this one is cool, the cab weighs only 26lbs, add another pedal like the Sansamp VT Bass ,take your bass and do battle...................................

t.c. RH450!!! I used to go with a rack and tons of stuff, now its just the amp, the footswitch and some cables in a nice backpack. Bass in one hand, cab in the other, and go!

Another nice thought: The T.C. combos have a trolley-like wheels and handle thing to attach to the back - I have not tired it yet, but works for big suitcases and large airports...
