Peter Baltes (ACCEPT) Blood Of the Nations Tone
Can anyone pleeeeeeeeeeease help me out on trying to figure out Peter Baltes from ACCEPT's gear for the 2012/2013. I know he used to be a Peavey guy but now I'm not so sure. If anyone has seen his rig or has seen video on it PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE let me know what he uses. Currently I am using USA P-Basses with a Hartke Hydrive setup. Just recently got another Hydrive 410 to go with my other one and my Hydrive 115. Don't know if he uses pedals, but I'm still trying my best to emulate his tone the best I can. I just about got it.
Thanks My Bottom-End Brothers
His main bass is a P Bass with EMGs. He digs in pretty good with a pick. Lots of high mid in his tone, thats how he cuts through. Not sure what amp he is using but your Hartke setup should be able to do it pretty well. What head do you have?
Peter Baltes ACCEPT Tone
Thanks Brother!!! I am using the Hartke Hydrive LH1000 head. It's a F@#%*&KIN MONSTER!!! As for Peter....I did notice (Believe it or not) in the video for Teutonic Terror Peter is using a Squire bass. Yep!! A squire!!! Still wondering what amp config. he's using. SOMEBODY PLEEEEEEEEASE HELP!!!! LOL
To My Bottom End Brothers......
You Guys are the BOMB!!!!
Keep It Rockin!!
There's nothing special about his tone, but it is good. Honestly it sounds more or less like something you'd expect from a good Precision and any industry standard tube-loaded amp.
A couple of years ago when they got back together with original singer Udo Dirkschneider for the European festival season, I read an interview with Peter in a German magazin.
He used Ampeg heads and cabs and said their sound guy had an Ampeg preamp that he controlled from FOH to add some extra dirt while Peter himself kept it rather clean onstage (as clean as Amepeg is).
I have zero idea as to what he plays these days, my guess, however, would be Ampeg.
Regarding basses, he's been a Precision guy for decades.
SVTs have tons of glorious, clean headroom.
