What can I say? I bought a PF-500 a couple months ago. I maybe should have waited, although I love my PF-500

I just saw it listed on the Ampeg site when I was poking around the Portaflex page. I just bought a PF350 about 3 weeks ago and I do love my PF 350 but 800 watts is tempting!
Seems like a more powerful version of the PF500?

Does that mean it will blow up 1.6 times quicker?

Just kidding, my PF-500 has been rock solid and sounds awesome. This extra headroom will be killer I bet.

Just give it a year or two before buying?

This is cool. So I guess it's the same amp as the PF-500 but more watts. I Love my 500

I'm sure they took the 7-Pro thing into account on this...

I wonder if they gave it a different preamp voicing?

It's up on the Ampeg site: http://www.ampeg.com/products/portaflex/pf-800/
Less than a pound heavier than the PF500, nice. From the specs, it looks like the same front end as the 500.

Instead of fixing the PF-500 they will probably dump it.
This being the fixed version with more power on the side.

Or maybe they managed to get 800 watts on sustained burst out of the PF-500 so they re-named it?

Okay enough playing with fire today!

I was gonna say, maybe they just got happy with a sharpie in the factory and changed the 5 to an 8.

It will be interesting to see how they fare in the long run. I am hoping for the best. Can't wait to hear feedback from those who are going to be using them firsthand over time.

Well not that I have a need for 800w, but looks pretty cool. Should be fun.
