Same here. My PF350 has plenty of power for what I do and although the 800 watts is overkill, it would still be a cool amp to have!

I was more hoping to see the svt-7 pre mated to the pf350 power section. Still, looks pretty sweet.

Pf-800 ?

Seems a bit of an odd move to me. I didn't really see a need to fill the gap between the 500 and the 7. Thoughts?

I'm sure it's because they want to stay competitive with other brands like GK who have a small 800 watt head.

True, I just think the 500 will end up getting the ax.

Don't know why they'd bag the PF500 for the 800. Lots of companies have 500 and 800w amps.

Makes the PF-350 look more like the odd man out to me. If we are just talking about competitor comparison.

I think your right. The 500 would be my choice over the 350. For a few more dollars you get a better package. Maybe if they dropped the 350 price by 50$ to make it a steal for a starter amp.

Well the PF500 does sell a lot more than the PF350, but the PF350 still sells, and as long as it's profitable for them to have it, they'll keep it. Personally, I hope they don't drop any of them. The PF350 is perfect for my micro needs. I use an outboard DI anyway, and I can get my sound easily enough with it, plus it fits in a laptop bag.

I think a lot depends on the price of the 800. To me, the appeal of the 350 is that it's plenty of power for the small to medium gigs that I do, it has a simple effective EQ, and it's super portable. Maybe not quite as portable as GK or GB offerings, but 8 pounds is pretty light.
That being said, I'm interested in maybe also picking up an 800 because of the larger increase in power over the 350.

On the Ampeg site, they're running a contest where you can win a custom purple PF800 rig.

I posted this in the other PF800 thread but I'll mention it here too - on the Ampeg site, they're running a contest where you can win a custom purple PF800 rig.

If you look at Genz they support 300, 600, and 900 watt versions of their amps. I dont see why Ampeg would do differently.
