Both speakers sound great & are very well made, but I prefer the older Piranha speakers - they are PJB's original design for a no-compromise driver, and their sound still floors me every time I crank up my Spectors through my PJB rig.

Man this this can HISS! I wouldn't mind a little or if the unit wasn't $350. I grabbed this for the Sound Quality and convenience factor of blending in another signal, but again, I can't justify 3 bills and not be satisfied.
Question: With Headphones is there any noise with the Bass Cub??
Thanks Much
Shawn

I actually prefer Lava, Bullet, pretty much anything else. But of course that (monster) is what was laying next to my amp. This thing is pretty Clean sounding. I wonder if the other reviews I read that mentioned the hiss were caused by the dreaded MONSTER.
and Thank You kind sir

What is the reasoning behind not using them? I use zaolla cables in every link of my signal chain, but I'm by no means a cable snob. The no name local music shop cables I have had for over 20 years work fine every week as well for rehearsal.

Warning! - Do not use Monster Cable
on PJB amplifiers.
“We have found an incompatibility issue with all Monster cables and PJB amplifiers. If you have a PJB amp you should not use it with any Monster cable with it as it can destroy the jack sockets on your amp. Repairs done to amps damaged by Monster cables are not covered by PJB’s warrantee.”
This refers more to the jack size not impedance/shielding

I'm thinking that's only into/out of the amp and from a pedal to the bass would make no difference. I always use a PJB cable from my BG800 to my PB300 too. |

I play 4 string electric basses and my PJ with flats sounds great thru this little combo. I envision using it for trios with me, and a couple of acoustic guitars - really deep, clean, round sound - well worth the investment IMHO |

In the early years of Monster cable, they used slightly larger male plugs (slightly larger than 1/4" spec). I guess their logic was that would result in a tighter connection (i.e., that it would be a positive). What happened was that, in some cases, it would result in input jacks eventually failing at worst, or at best, not working correctly with standard 1/4 plugs.
I'm pretty sure this practice was stopped many years ago, and there are no longer any special issues with Monster cables, as far as I know. Of course, many still don't appreciate their rather extreme marketing (i.e., having a different cable for every instrument ), but that would be a different issue.
