I'm going to use this cab with my PJB D-200 this weekend at a smaller gig. I'll have a report by Monday. Phil told me this cab absolutely rocks with the M-500, but in the spirit of portability (and it is a very small room this weekend) I want to try the D-200 which is already mounted in my rack.

Especially if you upsize the cabs later on. This is from an outdoor gig last year, the soundguy told me he barely had me in the FOH the Phil Jones cabs were so loud. Truly a stadium rig!

Played the 8B with the M500 head tonight for the first time. This little cab blew me away, the M500 "feels" like it weighs as much as the cab. I had complete strangers coming over between breaks to see what I was running, the sound was that good! I'm pretty sure that is the setup I will use from now on at over half of our venues, the only reason to bring out the 8T-16B configuration is the "wow" factor, all those silver pirhanas putting on a show. Don't get me wrong, the 8T-16B is a more powerful configuration, but if you sit back and consider just what you "need" the 8B is going to fill the bill very nicely in most of the venues we play.

Flight Case BG-150 | Tom, have you gigged with the M500 & Neo 8B pair?
If so, did you vertically stack the cabs or side-by-side?
Just curious on how that compares to a really good 4x10 cab.

[I lived there for a brief period in 1984-85. Beautiful part of the country! I had a hard time finding a decent-paying job or I'd probably still be there.]
That's some Really Excellent Gear!
Bet the Z3 kills through that rig!

Even though I'm a weekend warrior that plays medium/small bars I want the band to sound as good as possible. Also considering going rigless using IEM's and let the P.A. do what it's designed for. But quality isn't cheap, so trying to decide where to spend hard earned money. PJB bass rig or PJ P.A. system. I've heard the bass rigs & I'm sold(if I go that way). But since the P.A. is more money I want to hear it(& TB'ers opionon's on it) before going that way. thanks ya'll.
P.S. soon to be a Dingwall ABII owner can't wait!!

P.S. soon to be a Dingwall ABII owner can't wait!! | Hi mwbassace,
Congrats on the upcoming Dingwall acquisition! I love my Dingwalls, get ready to find new homes for your parallel fretted basses, you won't be needing them anymore!
I've combed these threads for a couple of years now and haven't bumped into any of Phil's PA users. I would love for them to come on here with some feedback as well. Because you are actively considering a PA I would call Phil himself, he should be able to set you up with some of his users to get their opinions on hit live PA stuff. Don't hesitate to call him either, this is what he does for a living and he loves what he does, so give him a ring.

Edit: I found a couple of links worth checking out if you have'nt seen them yet. Phil demonstrating the LS 1800 at a trade show. Crappy internal mic on the video, but it represents. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OC86o4lHOp8
And a copy of a TB thread you may have already come across. http://www.talkbass.com/forum/archiv.../t-520204.html

Bet the Z3 kills through that rig! | Maryville has grown quite a bit since you lived here, it's bigger, but the same if that makes sense. Definitely more job opportunities around and the same unchanging backdrop of the Smoky Mountains!
You have a safe bet sir, that Z3 kills through just about anything I've tried, I like the PJB equipment the best though. IMO it gives the most accurate voice of whatever you plug into it, I just happen to be hung up on Dingwall tone.

My recent acquisition of the neo 8B has cured that however I'm still curious as to what your opinions are of each configuration.
