Anybody check this new PJB combo out yet? 750w RMS, 12 Neopower 5's. Just got an email from PJB saying the price was $2695. http://www.philjonespuresound.com/products/?id=121
Curious to know whether anybody has seen or heard or bought one yet and what their impressions might be.
Cheers. |

First set I simply plugged into the PJB with my passive Lakeland to see what it would do. It was great, and put out lots of clean, full bass, with plenty of volume. No complaints from the band either, they could all hear it and thought it sounded good. Second set I did fire up my Orange rig, and I now have a bass sound that I was thrilled with. I have played in stereo with two rigs for years, but this combination is truly unbelievable. |

Look's like my amp aldough a bit expensive if I calculate taxes & shiping for Croatia. Not to mention our poor salary ... what can you do? That's why God made us with 2 kidneys!

God Gave us two kidneys for one thing: to allow us to have kidney donors. I am a bit bias on this, because I had a kidney transplant. Both of mine where failing. Doing Dialysis for three-and-a-half years wasn't a walk in the park either.
So keep your kindeys (God forbid) in case one of yours fails. You will have a spare to keep you going. As far as the thread topic: I saw one of these combos at the Atlanta Bass Gallery last week. I just looked at it; I didn't try it out. I didn't ask about the price either. I was looking at basses more instead of amps.
It does have two independent channels on it. Channel 1 has an combination XLR/1/4 input on it for upright bass. It looked sturdy and snazzy with the burgundy colored covering on it.
Here is a picture of the controls:
I hope this may help you out a little bit.

The EQ really enables me to dial in the tone I want with whatever acoustics I have to deal with, and it seems to have plenty of power for any situation. I feel fortunate to have a PJB dealer 30 minutes away from my house so I can try out the PJB gear. Great amp! |

| | | | Phil Jones BG-800 2 channels? Can both channels be used in unison through input B? What is the purpose of having two channels with different tones dialed in if you can't switch between them without unplugging the bass?

| | | | I currently use a super flight case in a 3 piece group, no drummer. Its great. I'm looking to get something to use with a drummer. Add a PB 300, to go with the super flightcase, is that loud enough? Go with the bg 800....? I need something that can cut thru a drummer. Any suggestions? |

Some of the EA amplifiers allow this.
If that's what's up here, that's cool; and, its more or less what I'd expect, from looking at it.
Phantom power for your mic, too.

I bet that thing would be great for acoustic guitar, fiddle, or electric bass onstage with a standup. It'd be intense for keyboards.
