PJB Briefcase battery question

Sign in to disble this ad
I just did a bit of research about putting a battery in my PJB Briefcase (and I also did read the manual). Before I do so I would like to make sure I'm not going to run into trouble so I have a few questions...

Most of the time I play with the regular wall socket cord(AC) but sometimes I'd like to take it outside to practice on the patio so I wonder :

Can I leave the battery inside the amp even when I'm playing with the AC cord plugged in the wall socket ? or will it overcharge and possibly damage the battery/circuits ?

Do I have to change anything in the back of the amp such as the metal terminal links connections ?

If I use an external car battery, can I leave the internal battery inside ?
Do I have to disconnect the metal links ?
Where should I plug the car battery terminals (Upper or lower battery terminals of the briefcase)?

Thanks !

You can leave the battery installed, and it is supposed to charge while you have it plugged in (but not over-charge). You don't have to change anything.

I kept my battery (barely used) when I sold my Briefcase and I have no need for it, so if you are interested feel free to drop me a PM.

Thanks mate for the info.

Since I'm Canada, it would probably be easier and cheaper to simply get a battery locally than to have it mailed and through the customs. I know a store that carries them. Thanks anyway.

Good point about being in Canada. Yeah, just get it locally.

FWIW, the only negative to having the battery in there is that it definitely adds to the weight. And the only reason I sold mine was that I prefer the Flightcase BG-150.
