Plan: Eden WT400 to TCE RH750; will I be happy?
Hi all, looking for some educated feedback on my plan. I currently play through an Eden WT400-based rig with a 4x10 cab and a six-space rack, with the following:
- Eden 410XLT cabinet
- DBX 1066 compressor
- SansAmp RBI
- Korg Tuner
- Furman power
I still LOVE the sound of this rig despite its age, but am seriously getting sick of hauling it around... and would love a setup that's less of a bear to move, and that I could fit in the trunk of my car, instead of needing to use a hatchback or wagon.
I'm seriously considering a TC Electronic RH750, with an RS212 and an RS210. It's got compression, drive, and the tuner built-in, and should be a lot easier to move around.
I've visited half a dozen Sam Ash and Guitar Centers in NJ, and nobody has them... I'd feel a LOT more comfortable shelling out this sort of cash if I could play through the rig first! But that being said, does anyone have any insight as to whether this rig would make me as happy as my current setup?
I play classic rock, jazz, prog rock, and fusion, usually with my Sadowsky NYC Will Lee 4 string. I also usually use an AmpWedge to tilt my rig so it points at my ears at least a little bit... the idea of vertically stacking the two TCE cabinets holds a lot of appeal.
Any feedback appreciated!
(I'll also add that I've read through most of the marathon TCE RH450 threads... very enlightening. But I am specifically interested in comparisons with my current setup.)
If you complete your profile your fellow TBers may be in a better position to refer you to a location near you where you can test drive the RH750 before you buy.
