All I have to say is "W W." I NEED one. This one was a little pricey, but I have a feeling I can talk them down a bit.

The B15N is a 'holy grail' vintage tube amp for good reason, it's ok to get excited about them! How much is the one you're looking at?

I played a B-15N a few years ago at a local store. I almost bought it, but it was there for someone else - a younger player - and though I could have bought it out from under him, I didn't. Hopefully that karma will come back to me somehow.

It sounded really nice. As most of my gigs are low (stage) volume, it probably would have worked just fine. Oh well, probably not the best match for my active 5 string anyway.

Believe it or not, I used a B15N at a recording session with my 5 string Sadowsky, and that amp handeled the B with class!!!

Big, heavy, underpowered, and the best bass amp I've ever owned

Yeah, it was a B-15N. Played with a Getty Lee Jazz and the combination was great.

A few questions: Does the "instrument" input take line-level input? Does the amp take well to active basses?

As for the active, you'll have to experiment. It might work best if you don't dime the bass - depends on how hot it is.

The inputs were made to take a high impedance passive instrument, but with discretion you can run other things into one.
