Please help me decide on a new amp

I've been using a Fender Rumble 60 for over 5 years. It's been a great amp, but I have to play with the volume on 10 because it's not loud enough. I am not in a band. My budget is around $500, but I can splurge an extra $100. The main thing is that I want it to be loud. I don't care about weight or size. I want it to be reliable. I prefer brand new because I've had bad luck with used products. I only play for fun, so I am not worried about the amp having every luxury feature. I play heavy metal (Pantera, Metallica, Slayer, etc.) I use a Spector Legend Classic 4-String. I've been researching the Ampeg BA115 100W 1x15 and the Peavey Tour TKO 115 400W 1x15. I've only played the Ampeg. It sounds great, but I've heard a lot of negative comments about it's reliability. Thanks for any help.

I love Ampeg, but there's nothing wrong with Peavey gear. You might want the extra power that the Peavey offers so that you can run an extra cabinet.

+1 on the Peavey TKO. Have played through them a few times and based on what you're describing I think you'd find one perfect for your needs. Like the previous poster says, too, you can also add another speaker and then you can begin your career of leveling small buildings

Peavey, Carvin, GK and Ampeg should all have 1x15 combos that would fit your needs.

I agree on Peavey. I've had two Peaveys (still have one) that sounded fine and didn't break the bank. If you can, get something with at least 200w. If you ever get to gigging, you'll need at least that much to cover most venues. Well, that's how it was for me, that is. The TKO with 400w and a 15" would kick some butt (that model is new to me).

If a combo is your choice. I'd just make sure you like the sound and it can run a extension cab...

nice little half-stack

Nice little half stack here. You can always add another cab later to it for a full 250w stack.

Having the option to add an extension cab would be really nice. Thanks everyone. I appreciate the help.

I know you prefer new; sometimes Craigslist presents "like new" setups at great prices...

That said, the GK MB212 is getting kudos for loud around here and is near your price. Carvin makes some in your price range too.
