A lot to say about this whole idea and I'm sure others will chime in.

My question is that if you've got full-range 10" and a full-range 15", then why would you need a crossover?

Green flag! Go!

Well in that case I'd say it depends on the tweeter and the range that you want it set to. Try searching around the amps forums for a little while and shop around for parts to decide what you want -- then you'll figure out what crossover to use.

Unless you're trying to kill your 15, it sounds like a mission doomed to fail.

It also seems from your OP like you haven't covered the basics of cabinet design, hows and whys of crossovers, speakers and T/S specs., etc.

+1. Building speakers involves a lot more than just sticking drivers into a box. Doing it successfully requires a lot of knowledge. A partial listing of what you need to know, and understand, can be found here:

short answer: don't bother, it's not a good idea to mix speaker types anyway.

slightly longer answer: if you're hell-bent, i suggest internally sealing the 4x10 part from the 1x15 part.

people think "4x10 for highs, 1x15 for lows", and that's wrong. a 4x10 will typically have more lows and highs (and power and volume), while the 15 will have a more midrange-y sound.

And you'll still kill the 15.

+1 all around.

OP, if you're too far into this to turn back, I'd sell the 15, make a pair of 8ohm 210's out of what you have and highpass a tweet in one of them.

Although, if you're not at least familiar with what these guys are posting it still may not turn out that good unless you're cloning something that already exists.

Do a search and discover why mixing a 15 and four 10s is not a good idea.

I'm not going to be the one to just flat out tell you don't do it, you gotta start somewhere and how ever it turns out, you'll learn a lot along the way but taking advantage of the experience and knowledge of others will help you avoid expensive mistakes and get something that at least sounds decent. You should do some more reading and ask some more questions before buying components and cutting wood.

That said tell us what you have in detail so you can make the best of it, whatever it is.
