I've narrowed it down to 2 amps, unless of coarse someone suggests something else but I need some feedback on these ...

Gallien-Krueger MB115 vs Eden E115C

GK has a promo discount at Amazon so $335 out the door (hopefully the tweeter will not be a problem; shipping back is expensive). They weigh close to the same: GK 33lbs / Eden @ 42lbs and their size seems about equal. I can buy the GK @ $335 shipped at Amazon or out the door at GC for $355. The Eden can be shipped to my door for $480

Which is the better investment, or is there something else you would recommend? Max $$$ is $450 out the door and I usually buy used, rather than new.

G-K over any new Eden IMO/IME.
If the GC is local go that route. Reason: Amazon sellers are not certified by Amazon and if the combo is sent in the original box only shipping damage is very possible. The carton is for pallet shipping. If shipped other than a pallet load it should be double boxed. $20.00 for piece of mind and easy returns is darn cheap!

I just checked and it's direct from Amazon.com but I'm leaning the same way you said - extra $20 at GC to not have to deal with possible shipping woes.

However, was just checking out an Ibanez Promethean P3115 @ 300W 1x15 37lbs with an unheard of 5 year (on electronics only) warranty. Read one review here at TB and it received a very good report. Would like to hear a bit more about this amp before deciding

I'd take a good look at the Promethean. Is there anywhere near you to check it out, or at least buy it with a return policy?

There's a Guitar Center and Music Go Round nearby. GC has a GK MD115 and a GK stack, the othes were Peavey & Acoustic except the used stuff like a Fender Rumble 100 and SWR RedHead; nothing right now in the less weight flavor that I'm looking for.

well, decided to take the plunge. Went to American Musical Supply and just happened to buy the last one in stock ... phew, that was a close one

Should be here by weeks end and will post results then. Maybe someone will post something before then

I’ve never played or heard the E115C - but I like both the MB115s I own.
