Talking Pocket amps

You know that clip-on-belt amp Jack Black uses in School of Rock? Marshall I think. Do they make a bass amp version?

I would quite like one for the novelty, and to add a little more volume to my acoustic bass at jams around the campfire due to summer fast approaching

If they don't make a bass equivalent, is the one in S.O.R any good at all to play bass through? I wouldn't of thought so, but hey, worth a shot.

Thanks

Not really!

Unless you want a headphone amp. But for a little bass amp to put out sound loud enough to be head, and still clip on a belt - not so much.

And i doubt you are actually HEARING that little amp in school of rock. They record all the guitar parts in the studio, and overdub it later.

I was doing some research into something like this. The batter powered Crate Taxi seems the way to go . . . or carvin makes a battery powered PA for the same $$

We've used one of those small amps in the studio. Maxed it out and put a mic infront of the little amp for a surprisingly warm distorted guitar. For bass though it just cannot cut the mustard.

The Vox Amplug is pretty decent for a headphone amp, but it's terrible with that little cab addon that Vox launched not too long ago.

If I'm not wrong, the Amplug goes for about $30
