Poll: TBer Amp Preference

I know there's been a lot of polls on type and make of bass but what about what everybody here uses for amplification. Trying to keep it simple and not trying to canvas the world of all makes and models. We have a lot of members so if we keep it truthful and not "what we wish we had" it should be interesting.

Based on big box and some small box retailers here the popular choices.

I'm sure like me we have several, so pick your favorite. Today mind is Ampeg.

Been done already. G-K and Ampeg (whoever owned Ampeg's name in particular year made) ran at the top.

And thank God someone else owned Ampeg all these years. If the original owner hadn't sold in 67, there never would have been any bass amps over 50w from them.

When was the last poll taken? If it was within a year than have the moderator delete it. The one that came back from a search was odd makes.

Thanks,

Currently I'm using a Carvin rig:

BX1500 head + BRX10.4 4x10 cabinet.

It has a nice clean and punchy sound with enough clarity and definition that even complex chording or tapping on my 6 string works nicely. Oh and my P-Bass Special is nice and growly. Not overdriven, but it has the girth.

My big rig is an Ampeg SVT-VR with a Bergantino NV610 (it's heavenly). My small rig is a GK MB210 combo (only because I haven't found the perfect Ampeg B15N yet). I'm still lookin for the perfect flip top if anyone knows of a good one ping me.

Only Ampegs for me, I wouldn't want anything else. The B-15 has spoiled me rotten, hehe.

Oh I don't have my Ampegs, Fenders. Sunn or Acoustic Control Corp amps anymore? Time keeps moving even if we don't.

Neither was Bag End, but it's virtually impossible to list them all.

You don't think the call for 100 watt V4B or the 280 watt SVT would have been answered? Interesting.

I don't understand the poll. You want to know what we all use, but you don't want to list all the different makes and keep it simple?

I've tried a lot and many of them have things I like. the one i always seem to come back to as the sound in my head is the GK.

An Ampeg SVT thru an 8x10 is also a dream rig in terms of tone but there are other factors such as mobility and tube issues etc that prevent this from being my favorite.

Usually Mesa amps, but cabs is a whole other story.
