I'm a G-K nut, but I also like older (A & B series) Eden heads like my WT-800A.

I love my Carvin but it hasn't been performing as well as I'd like it to lately. It's always been a workhorse but it's about 6 or 7 years old now and may need taken in for a checkup. We've been in the studio lately and one of the main problems is I've been getting is fairly significant hum from the amp. It turned out okay because the studio has a pretty wide range of nice class A preamps and an Ampeg fliptop and SVT available for re-amping, so I've been recording direct and going from there. My amp still makes a phenomenal stage amp, and I'm sure will be even more so after a tune-up.

Me too. I have a B-15n that is the standard for great tone. I just picked up a '67 SB-12, also a great sounding little amp.

My big rig is a SVT VR (USA) with either the 810 AV or 410HLF cab, my rehearsal amps are a pair of Ampeg B100R's. They get left at the practice space(s) so I don't have to lug amps around.

I do have a SWR Bass 350 Redhead head as a backup to the SVT for big gigs, but I have never had to use it.

Darn right, Jawbone! I can't swing one either, but they are beautifully done.

I said Fender, because that's what I have. If anyone wants to send me an Ampeg, I will gladly change my vote.

If you have been playing for a long time - and used the same amp for a long time - I think that you become biased toward that sound.

I started with a Fender Bassman 10 in 1978. Went to the 1980 Peavey 2x15 with 300 watt head for gigs, but at home or practice has always been Fender.

I check out other brands, and some impress the heck out of me, but then when I plug back into Fender it feels like I came back home. Yeah, the amp vacation can be very exciting, but you always end up going back home.

(IMO, of course)

Other.

I use Bergantino speaker cabinets: normally the NV610 (which one-ups the Ampeg SVT 8x10), but for smaller gigs, a pair of HS210 or pair of HT112ER.

My amp is a rack head containing a preamp (see below) and Stewart World 2.1 power amp.

I currently use a tube preamp made by Talkbasser Jonathan Reiner, but I also own (and like) preamps made by Tech21 (RBI and RPM), Ampeg (SVP-Pro), and SWR (Interstellar Overdrive).

I use several amps, but mainly I go to my SVT with an 810. I also use an Ashdown with the same 810 when I don't need as much grit, and for smaller gigs I use a Mesa walkabout with an SVT210 cab.

I use a Markbass LMIII through 2 Avatar SB112 cabs.

My Xmas present was an SVP-Pro/IBR-1600 rack, but I'm still rolliing tubes in the Ampeg and haven't gigged it yet.

And I bought one of the Ashdown LB30s during the blowout last week. Haven't gigged it either, as our gigs last weekend and this weekend are outside. But I'm looking forward to trying it out at a small club we're playing next weekend.
