The cab : I wait to receive my Barefaced 69er which will replace my Mesa-Boogie Scout Radiator 15".
I also have the pre-amplifier Monique ( By Jule Amps ) and I ordered its Minnie 800D power amp today (made by J. Demeter). |

As for speaker cabs ... I buils my own diy cabs and I use Eminance and Carvin speakers.

I went to Bass pro shop and to my surprise they didn't have a single bass guitar.

small venue: Markbass Little Mark III amp with a MarkBass TRV102p (8ohm) cab
big venue: Markbass Little Mark III/Carvin B2000 amp with a MarkBass STD104HF (4ohm) cab.
I really like Markbass equipment for its rich/warm lows and clarity. I prefer my Little Mark III over the Carvin B2000 aswell, even though the wattage of the Carvin is much higher, their output volumes aren't really that much different.
It was only a few months ago my band played a gig with another band and out of sheer laziness, i asked the bass player of the other band if i could use his Orange Tiny Terror amp and orange 2x12 cab (the one that has speakers stacked behind each other) so i could travel light. I wont be doing that again in a hurry..... It lacked allround EQ response, bottom end tightness and clarity Im acustomed to with Markbass.

I gigged Marshall Supers and JCMs when younger (I am a lead player), then got into Peavey Classic combos around 1997. Since then I have owned and gigged multiple Classic 50 and Classic 30 combos. I have bought and gigged Mesa Boogies, a Matchless HC-30, Laneys, and a couple of others. But I always come back to the Peaveys.
So when buying a bass rig, an older USA made Peavey Max or Firebass with some combination of PV TVX cabs (or possibly Avatar or Carvin BRX) made sense. I have never, ever, in 30+ years of gigging had a Peavey amp (bass or guitar) go down, nor have I ever personally seen it happen.
