Vote for you favorite amp brand, and tell me why you like it. I've purposefully excluded a few of the major brands to focus on these brands.

Oh and by the way, to the best of my knowledge Bergantino doesn't actually produce amps (except for the IP series). Only cabs...

Can't really see how you expect to get accurate information though by not including brands like Ampeg, Gallien Krueger, and Markbass. Thanks to Guitar Center, those are probably the three best selling brands in bass amplification. |

Hartke may not be the best amps by a long shot, but they have the most kick-ass proprietor. |

I bought myself an Ashdown Mag300 combo years ago, and I've never even considered getting anything else.

| | | | Ampeg are the most popular bass amps ever.
I would vote for old-school Acoustic. If I were to buy a gigging amp today, I would go rooting around on eBay.

All it shows currently is that the majority use "other" brands. However, perhaps you were meaning to focus solely on solid state amps and exclude all tube amps since none of those on your list currently make an all tube model???? |

I bought mine five years ago and only recently have i decided i need a more powerful amp, but never once during that time did i think "i could probably get better tone from a different head". And now that i'm moving on to a more powerful amp, i'm having a hard time letting my old ashdown combo go | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
