Sign in to disble this ad
i have a peavy max 115 combo and i get this loud popping sound when i switch the voicing mode! it only pops when i switch to max from the other two, switching between modern and vintage doesnt give me this pop. anyway even if i cant fix it i'd like to know if its something to worry about? can it blow the speaker?

Does it pop at the same loudness regardless of your volume/gain settings? If it is linked to your gain settings, you can just turn down when switching...

Depending on how loud the pop is, there could be speaker damage.

the loudness of the pop is effected by the master volume setting and not by the pre gain setting. and the pop is pretty loud as my master is occasionally at around 12 noon

For now, just turn down. I'm thinking some electrical contact cleaner for the switch might do the trick...

ya, contact cleaner should take care of it. probably nothing to be alarmed about, though.
