I was looking around for a portable bass amp, and i was wondering what are some good small and light bass amps.
I need one because i jamm a lot with my friends and its a pain to carry a heavy bass amp al the time.

Checkout the Gallien-Krueger MB115 bass combo - 200 watts, 15” + horn, 35lbs, only $400, and it sounds awesome.

Genz Benz shuttle series are awesome, but pricier. There are plenty of portable combos available now. What kind of sound do you like? That might affect your decision.

I play a lot of grunge and classic rock.

The Gallien-Krueger looks good.

My friend told about mark bass, apparently they make light weight amps are they any good?

Yes ~ I’ve never used one but I’ve heard two. One was the little head into a 4x10 and the other time was the 1x12 combo and both sounded very good.

EDIT - BTW, I got covers for my GK MB115’s and I recommend “Studio Slip” covers.

In the past I’ve also owned Tuki covers and they are nice too.

I'm totally in love with Ampeg's micro rigs. The Micro VR and Portaflex series micro heads and cabs are super and the price is right.

I've got an older GK 400RB IV 210 and love it. DI for PA support. On it's own though, depending on how loud you play/ how many guitars, it may fall a little short. There are some really good options out there for just about every budget.

The GK400RB is a great amp and the MB115 sounds like the 400RB only on steroids into a 1x15 w/horn at only 35lbs and $400. That is hard to beat!!!

I use an SWR Workingpro 12 for most indoor gigs; especially nice with PA support. Great XLR out, soundmen love it, and it's a very solid and powerful small amp. A tad heavy, but spring-loaded handles and top strap make it easy to handle--even for a 60 year old. The GK combos look great, and are light, but I love the tilt-back monitor feature. On a side note, it did get caught in a heavy shower once beneath a very leaky tarp and was fine.
