Question Portable Power Supply

Sign in to disble this ad
Im playing in a Pit outside during a Field Show. And I Have to use a portable power supply or power inverter to use on the Field because there is no way to run a power extension in the stadium. Does anybody know of a solution or a System i can use for this?

Is it just you, or a bunch of people who need power?

Either a generator if there's more than you, or you could look into something like the Crate portable battery powered amp.

+1. Generator will probably be the best way to go.

I have one of these, though I don't use it for my amp. I use it so I can recharge the battery in my sport bike without having to move it within extension cord range of my apartment.

I am pretty impressed with the unit.
I don't know how much power your amp pulls so can't say how long it will last.

Rated for 3.5 hours at 100 watts, 1.75 hours at 200 watts.

There are a few other options listed at the site also.

I had the same problem when I played bass in pit one year. I've seen other bands use a type of battery/inverter combo similar to what has been posted, but when I looked up the product it was quite expensive so I passed.

We got by using a long extension cord, but my permanent solution was to move to playing timpani...

In my oppinion it is an insult to the bass to bring it down to the level of marching band.

The system is just for me but i have to run my 4x10 SWR rig through it for about 20 min. at a time then its in the stands where I have an outlet.

DUC1098 yours seems like the best portable solution but its a bit pricey so im going to weigh some options.

Thanks guys for all the feedback this is my first post btw.

Check around, maybe you can rent something similar?
