I beleive the B18X was the same 50 watt head as the B12X Portaflex, but paired to a cab that housed an 18" speaker and a HF horn. Feature-wise, it should have two channels, one will have volume/treble/bass just like a B15, and the other channel should have reverb and/or tremelo. The "X" amps were marketed more as universal amps, back in the days when you might only have one person in the band who owned an amp and everyone else would plug into the same unit. Never played through one, but like any '60's Portaflex it should sound pretty sweet. According to the Ampeg book the B-18X is pretty rare, so for $500 it's probably a safe bet.

If it's a diamond blue tolex '60s model, fairly good shape and works well, I don't think you can go wrong for $500.
