possible GK1001rb-II issue

Maybe I never noticed it before, or I'm just paranoid after a hard loud night of pushing my amp to the point of blowing a couple speakers...

Anyway whenever I turn up the Woofer knob i'm getting this hiss coming out of the speakers. I know its not my instruments because even with the mute button on, the hiss is still there. It's not loud, but it's definitely noticeable when playing as the hiss never stops.

I've had a tech look at it and he said there was nothing wrong... but I don't believe him.

Can any other 1001rb-II owner's check and see if your setup does the same thing? (mines running into a Avatar B212 with 1/4" speaker cable)

Thanks

High gain electronics typically make noise and you can only go so far in getting rid of it. I think you'll find your amp is fine.

If its not loud I personally would not worry. If it is troubling to you or gets worse first unplug your instrument cable and try again. If it is still there one of the TL072s (preamp chips) may have a noisy junction. Finding which one requires a little effort. Paul is correct it is hard to eliminate all noise from high gain amps and usually not cost effective unless it is early in the signal chain and also affects the DI or effects send.

If you can hear it (the hiss) while playing then something may be wrong with the amp or something else in your signal chain.
