you're in amps, so no prob there- however, the short answer is yes, any combo *can* be split into it's 2 basic parts, but it's never a good idea. The spkr cab in most combo amps is way too small for the driver it's loaded with, making it a poor choice for a bass cab. Most ALL bass combo's suffer from this compromise in making it portable. Not a good idea, anyway you slice it.

Agreed, unless of course you can score the T/S parameters and build a new spkr cab. Then you have to ask yourself if that's worth it. In my case, yes, I'm taking an old PV TNT 130 and splitting it into separates but making a slightly larger lightweight cab (1/2" birch) that's tuned better as PV was kind enough to send me the T/S. Why? Got it dirt cheap (basically free) and my nephew is starting bass and needs something bigger than a Fender Rumble 25 now. Perfect for him at his age. Wouldn't do it otherwise, though.

I did it with a Peavey T-Max combo. Peavey T-Max head was great, as was the 210 cab (basically a 210TVX cab) for what it was.

HEAVY mutha as a combo. Not entirely bad after I took out the head and cut the top head area off and re-carpeted it.

I eventually sold the head but kept the cab...even loaded it with BP102's later on and used an Ashdown Superfly head with it...

Here's a pic of it turned vertically with the Ashdown and BP102's.
