Power amp 1550 watts cab 1200watts. Is this okay?

This is going to be ridiculously loud either way, but is it safe? am I going to be consistently spiking my cab and hence destroy it?

or am I going to be fine because of the extra headroom providing I don't crank it up to 11?

Amp is a Crown XLS1500 and the cab is an Ashdown ABM810

No, you're not going to destroy it because you're going to use some common sense and not push it beyond its limits.

Cab power ratings are useless.

But, there's nothing wrong with that amp, cab combo.

Use your ears and you'll be fine.

Believe me, I'm definitely one for common sense and using my ears with this cab.

I'm not much for understanding some of the specs/physics behind this type of operation so I thought I would ask the masses what they think. You've been helpful as always TB!

just don't forget where your volume knob and your common sense knob is and you'll be cool.

You'll never know it, because you'll be completely deaf before any damage can occur to your cab
