Power amp without level control?

I'm planning on picking up a Crown Micro-tech 600 in the near future, but I've noticed that it doesn't have level controls on it like most power amps. Will this be much of a problem, or will I be fine just controlling volume with the pre-amp? I tried to search for any insight, but I couldn't find anything.
