Power amplifier question?

Hello, I am looking for any help in finding a power amp for my rig. I don't really need a traditional amplifier anymore since I rely on my sans amp and bass for tone. I would like something small, light, and portable.

Can anyone suggest anything that I can simply plug a standard 1/4" guitar cable into and go? Output could be either 1/4" and / or Speakon. Somewhere in the 200 - 300 watt range, 4 ohms.

There are plenty that go 200-300 per channel, more than that bridged.

Peavey IPR and Crown XTI are popular lightweight choices. I don't know that you'd really save much $$ going with less power.

+1, Peavey and Crown offer good value and quality. The Peavey IPR1600 puts out 530W into each channel at 4 Ohm, the Crown XLS1000 gives 350W into each channel at 4 Ohm. Either will be good, flexible options. Can add cabs later, biamp, run one channel clean, one dirty, etc.

The Crown XTI costs more, but has a lot more DSP options, including a USB connection and PC software.

I just bought one. It does what it says on the tin and it only weighs around 10 pounds.
