If I run a 700 watt at 4 ohm head into an 8 ohm cab how many watts will I have?
350?

It actually depends on the amp. Is it a tube or solid state? Is it designed to be used with an 8-ohm cab?

It doesn't matter - you won't hear the difference based on the amp. The cab design and efficiency will make much more difference.

Why, you just splice an extra end onto your power cable and plug it into a different circuit at the same time.
