Poweramp Channel 2 Distorts

Sign in to disble this ad
I have an E-SystemsPro Poweramp for about 5 months now its been good but the other week it developed a distortion from channel 2 for some unknown reason. Its a Class H 3400w Stereo Poweramp` its for more of a big setting kind of amp.
I havent played it much. Its been good the whole time ive had it & it hasnt left my room but once for a little jam with some friends.I keep it well covered out of sun , dust , etc...
I turned it on last week & its distorting @ low volumes from channel 2.The note sort of dies out along with the distortion like its being dragged down by it. I can hear it better when playing soft @ low volume & i cant really hear it at high volume but its still present. It doesnt do it on channel 1 only channel 2 ??
It has warranty so its been taken in already to be fixed....
But has anybody had this happen ?? And what was the problem did you get it fixed ??

Does the amp's manual (or web site) have a troubleshooting guide?

Could you post a link to its product page?

So this amp is still under warranty and you've sent it back for servicing already but the problem still persists?

I take it that you've done the usual troubleshooting routine of trying eliminate other possible causes for the amp's noise:

- trying different patch cables
- plugging the amp into different power outlets
- checking for ground loops between the amp and other connected gear
- swapping speakers between the amp's outputs (there might be a bad tweeter or X-over involved)
- cleaning the jacks with electrical contact cleaner (spray a bit onto one end of a Q-tip and work it in & out of the jacks to clean their contacts).

If I couldn't remedy the problem on my own I'd take the amp back to where I bought it and politely insist that it be repaired or replaced.

Thanks for the info. This is the first time its done this.I tried different
Cabinets
Cables
Outlets
Basses
The problem was that it was only distorting on channel two, i tried & it wasnt the outlet , cabinet or the bass.
I hope it is just some dust gathering because my house can get pretty dusty sometimes.
Again thanks for your input.
