I have a line on two used amps, ranging from $75-$89 dollars. One is an older Peavey Basic 112. It's got skuffs here and there, but works fine. It doesn't have a port in the back panel, and its power cord is hard-wired (no IEC jack).
The other, an Acoustic B20, I have yet to get a good look at.
Rather than want a combo with a bunch of bells and whistles, I want something basic, which I can plug a Sansamp into.
I'd like to keep the spend limit to $150. I like that the Peavey is US-made. Any other recommendations would be much appreciated.
(Sorry for the typo in the poll question. Can't seem to edit it.)

If I had to choose, I'd go Acoustic B20. I've heard good stuff about Acoustic. But Peavey have really reliable gear too so I've heard. No personal experience with either though, sorry.
EDIT: As it goes, my first practise amp was a Laney RB-3... I went straight from that to a full Gallien-Krueger/Laney stack.

| | | | I've practiced on a Peavey 112 for years. Very reliable, and its small size makes it easy to move around the house. Not a bad choice.

I have actually been able to do small coffee shop gigs with a 5 string and be pleased. Thinking of purchasing 2 more if I can find them used (one for my daughter and one to leave at my girls house).

I used to put a Fender 2-10 Rumble(my current practice amp) on top and ran the pre out into the Peavey live before I got my G-K rig.
Other than lugging it around, it would work for you. If you get the $$$ someday you could buy a pre amp and run thru it.
I'd personally stay away from the bass "practice amps"(I have a Fender Rumble 15 I picked up used for $50.00), they don't have enough "poop" to be practical. |

A used Peavey 112 or 115 combo always works, but I see that the newer Acoustic amps have many usable inputs (headphone, MP3) for cheaper and sound good. If you really want (more $$$), get a used SWR Workingman 12 or 15. It's quite expandable, sound great, has an tweeter (if you want that option, I always had it off) and could also be used as a live rig with another 8 ohm speaker.

Can't comment on the B20.

Perfect for practice and acoustic gigs.
