Hello! I'm looking for a fab value-for-money practice bass amp. I have narrowed down my list to:

Hartke A70
Laney RB3
Fender Rumble 60

What do you guys think? Cheers!

I have the Rumble 30, and its a great little amp...so the 60 should be good as well. The tilt back feature is nice and they sound nice....good price as well.

Also consider Acoustic B20 and Peavey Max Series.

Edit: ... and Ampeg BA112

new or used ?? and what is the price range and expectations ?? ... meaning is this just for bedroom practice by itself or for band practice with other instruments, and at what volumes ?? ... There is also a LOT on here about practice amps in 'search' that you might find helpful ...

Wel, if you would consider used, find a GK Backline combo. For band practice, the 115 would suit fine, and later versions were essentially the 350 head, meaning you can run an extension cab for a 175 watt @ 4 ohm stack that will sound great and won't break your wallet. If it's gotta be new, the Hartke A70 does sound good, but I'd recommend the A100 for the slightly bigger power. Or, you should be able to find the Fender Rumble 75 in your price range. Hope this helps. Cheers, and good luck in your search.

Acoustic B20
Runble 30
Traynor TB50

For a new amp:
Just bought a B20 after a lot of reading, and finally visiting a town that sold them. Big, round, deep, full, clear sound - you won't be disappointed: especially for $149.00 USD new (even less in Canadian bucks these days). It was it or the Rumble 30, which did sound quite good and has the added overdrive wet/dry feature which sounded great and $45 more - mute point difference. Just something about the B20's 12" speaker as well: more 'plume'? Sounds friggin' great.

If I wanted to spent $250 plus tax on an amp for practice/stage monitor/kitchen party I would have bought the TB50. Solid, punchy, tilt and 50 watts.
