Pro Behringer!

Well, gotta say my new Behringer Ultrabass BXR1800H head is a pretty good unit. Good power, tone, volume, features, etc. All for $109 brand new!

OK, let's get this out of the way:I know there are a LOT of Behringer-haters out there. I also know there are a LOT of people who have never played through a Behringer, never seen a Behringer or can't even SPELL Behringer! A lot of people seem to want to jump on the bandwagon of hate. I've been a musician for 39 years and I've seen problems with just about EVERY major brand name out there.

In any event, I have several Behringer products, including a guitar amp, and have never had a problem with any. The quality has gotten much better over the last couple of years for sure.

Would I gig with it? No...I'm a guitarist! I also play bass, drums and keyboards for recording purposes.

I would definitely recommend their products to anyone.

Let the hate begin: you know who you are!

Nuff said.

No hate here. My old Behringer BX4500 was a great head, dependable and good-sounding. I use a Behringer DR100 reverb pedal and it sounds great.

I think a lot of people are negative because they don't want to admit that you can buy a decent unit for 1/5 of what other amps cost, that being said I owned a couple of their 4500 head's and they were nice but for that much you can get a hartke LH1000 which is MUCH better for around the same price...

I hate Behringer because they have been sued multiple times for stealing from other companies but then again I actually have morals. How many of you musicians on here would like it if someone stole a song you wrote maybe made a few minor changes and got rich off of it. My guess you would be screaming bloody murder. But it is OK if Behringer does it as long as you can save a few $ on your musical equipment purchases.

Nope! I agree that's wrong. Everyone rips everyone off. That's the way of the world these days. Just ask any lawyer looking to make a buck.

I guess we should all hate Gibson/Epihone for making a Strat copy??? How about every other bass maker that makes a Jazz clone? Guess we should all dump on the Camaro since the Mustang was the first pony car while we're at it!

Sorry...I'm too intelligent for all that!

Anyway, I like Behringer and I'm sure there are a lot of people who do, too. Maybe not the BEST stuff around, but FAR from the worst.

Oh, yeah...saving money's a good thing!

"Morals" are innocent until proven guilty. Except for one lawsuit 20 plus years ago, Behringer hasn't lost a lawsuit in court.

$109 for a BXR1800H - that's a great price! I like it's rack mounted and light. I wish they'd take the hint and make more gear this way.

umm, let's see, their complete lack of customer service, coupled with the unreliability of their equipment, plus their misleading advertising, all combine to make me dislike Behringer.

Like anything else, do your research and KNOW what you're buying. I own a Behringer 2442FX mixer, a DCX2496 crossover, a dual-31 band EQ (can't rmember model#) and an EP4000 power amp. No problems with any of it. Early versions (and there were thousands made) of the 2496 had a fatal design flaw which made the unit noisy at best and smoking at worst. That design flaw was fixed and newer versions like mine don't have that issue. The EQ is a little noisy; background hiss. So would I use that on a studio recording? Probably not. Does it work well to shape my FOH sound at the Joe's BBQ & Backyard Accessories gigs I play? Yep, works great!

Am I saying that the Behringer PA gear I own is as good as a Midas console or a Crown i-Tech amp? Of course not. That would be pro-level gear. Behringer is not pro-level gear. I'm also not a pro so it all works out for me. I've had no issues with any of my Behringer gear.

Um, have you actually dealt with their customer service?

My brother gave my daughter one of their modeling guitar amps. It had an intermittent hum that I couldn't get rid of, and was out of warranty. I posted on a forum (think it was r.g.b.) looking for help diagnosing it. A Behringer rep responded, asked some questions, helped me troubleshoot. When I couldn't resolve it to my satisfaction, he e-mailed me a shipping label to send it in for repair. They sent a brand-new, updated all-analog model (the original had been discontinued) for no charge. Totally above and beyond. And the replacement is a cool little amp that's never given any trouble.

If you *have* worked with their customer service, and found it unsatisfactory, then that's unfortunate, and quite the opposite of my experience.

Yep! I have. It's too long a story to post, but essentially i got shunted from rep to rep, and then basically told that I was hearing things. Never did get satisfaction.

Gotta love these Behringer threads! SMH! Anyway, had an experience with a 'B' product last night. Jamming with some cats. I bring my Markbass head and an Epifani PS112 cab with me. There's a 'B' 4x10 cab sitting there. I proceed to hook my cab and that cab up. That cab sounded pretty doggoned good! I'm definitely no rookie to playing or to cheap and pro gear and I gotta say, that thing hung pretty good. Deep bass, nice tweeter! I have owned a combo practice amp a couple years back and I had no issues with it. Only sold it to fund other gear.

Where'd you find it for $109? At that price, I wouldn't mind having one to leave at our practice space or in the trunk for a backup.

No hate here

We do small coffee-house and church gigs with just a Behringer K1800FX combo and a Behringer Xeynx 1002B mixer (ok, we use a few instruments and mics as well - but they're not Behringer). Great workhorses that haven't let us down on the job. We had one K1800FX that stopped working just out of warranty, and it was sorted very efficiently by their customer support - we got a ticket, and just went to our local supplier and exchanged it.

Downsides: The K1800FX effects are pretty useless, and the whole thing is covered in rat fur - which our cats love to scratch. It currently looks like an explosion in a fur factory, so at some point we'll give it the bed-liner treatment.

In short; it works for us!

I've had a Mixer,a DI, Crossover, Compressor.(and a 115 for practice).all from Behringer..never had anything break down.(But I do avoid there powered stuff.)

My "friend" had a powered speaker pop n then fail (no smoke though).. after bout 3 mos of use.Contacted behringer, shipped it at their expense...Got a completely new replacement.
It took about 6 weeks.

Then...get this.... about a month after that, they sent him ANOTHER speaker.for what seemed to be no reason.(He never questioned it though)

Take that story for what it is.

JUNK (for the most part)

I've had them open. Amps are way underbuilt. Speakers too.

Electronics that don't do the work-i.e. mixers, signal processors etc are a good value.

Amps, Speakers == MAJOR JUNK
