Pro series Ampeg through Bergantino AE/HS?

Sign in to disble this ad
Every search I've done for Ampeg + Bergantino comes back with the all tube models through the NV series Bergantinos. But I can't find any that have played an SVT3/4/5/6/7 Pro through a Berg AE or HS series cab.

Has anyone tried this setup? Does it work well?
I don't have the opportunity to try this matching, but it intrigues me. I'm thinking that an SVT3 or SVT7 through an AE212 or AE410 would be a pretty impressive lightweight but powerful rig. Or maybe even the AE210 or AE112 for a smaller setup.

listen, all this stuff about matching gear to gear...i will agree that extreme mismatches can happen, but i've found it's mainly because i didn't like one of the pieces as much as i thought i did. you get an amp and a cab you like individually, and 9 times out of 10 it works together just fine.

Hmmm. That's good to hear, Jimmy. I'm not too picky about trying to find the perfect tone, more about trying to avoid a bad one.
I guess I could re-ask the question as: would it sound "bad"?

And perhaps it is also a bit of curiosity, as I can't find any reviews of this combination, and sometimes it's nice to read reviews and pretend I'm playing through it in my head

most ampeg lovers don't seem to like to use cabs like the ae berg series and vice versa. not so say it won't sound great, but that's probably there aren't many reviews.
