Problem with Ashdown amp

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi,

Last night i played a gig at my drummers birthday party with my amp which is an ashdown mag 300 evo II head paired with the ashdown mag 410 deep cab. I left my amp there last night and went and go get it this morning and i go to turn it on and it's making a sort of woofing sound through the cab and when i play through it sounds distorted and a bit more mid-heavy than usual and a lot quieter. I don't know whether it is the amp or the cab and i think it may have something to do with the fuse. if so, how do i check?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

If it was a fuse it would not work at all. Other than that I don't know the amp well enough to help further.

I had an older version of that head and now use the 600 watt version with two 410 Mag cabs. Never had a problem. The Mag300 only puts out about 180 watts into one 410 cab. In my experience with that setup you may have been pushing it a bit hard with a loud drummer. That head really likes a 4ohm load to get some good punch. When I used it with one cab I always felt a need to jack up the lows. Two cabs made a world of difference. I would start checking to see if one or more speakers have blown.
