Problem with distortion GK Backline 600

Sign in to disble this ad
I am having a problem with my distortion. In the clean channel A, the distortion LED stays lit very dim, and is jumps in and out of distortion. Very irritating. When I use the the push button on the front panel to change to Channel B, the distortion LED comes on bright and the distortion is strong. I tried using the footswitch and get the same results. Can anyone help me with this? This amp has been awesome for me over the last bunch of years and I'd really like to keep it going. It's in perfect condition (considering). Never abused.

Had the same problem with mine. Ended up being the IC that switches the distortion and clean channel. I pulled the chip out of mine and hardwired it clean. You could replace the chip... if that is your problem. Shouldn't be terribly expensive. Or you can get another amp

Contact daniel@gallien.com you may have one with the solder flux issue, I believe they are still taking care of folks with the issue. Send him your S/N and your discription of the issue.
