Problem with a Peavey Mk III

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a Peavey Mark III head that I got for a backup. At the moment I use it when i practice at home (I got it used on Craigslist). Recently, sometimes when I practice, it will just fade out to nothing, and if I flip the switch off and back on, it is good to go again... Any ideas? I am running it through an Ashdown Deep Mag 2x10 cab, fwiw...

Try cleaning out the pots if they're scratchy/staticy when you turn the knobs. But I suspect something bigger is going on...

no scritchy scratchies... in fact (I have had it a while) I MAY have already cleaned it out... (can't remember... I have a couple other Peavy amps around my school, and i may be thinking of them). Doesn/t SEEM (to me) to be a dirt issue, tho I am often wrong... seems like something else.

Sometimes as I am practicing, it just seems to suddenly fade out, drop volume til it is gone... I flip the power switch off and back on and it is fine...
