Whoever asked you about a "processor" did not know what they were talking about. The word "processor" is like the word "food". What kind of food do you eat?

I would go back and ask them what they meant.

Maybe they think your amp is a computer and they want to know if you're running Intel or AMD.

This is the processor I use:

Cuisinart® 9 cup Food Processor in Food Processors | Crate&Barrel

I find it's got enough power for my needs, flexible controls and a variety of attachments.

I prefer the Mr. Fusion....................

When playing @ 88 BPM, it enables time travel

I've heard rackmount stuff- compressors, reverbs, preamps, etc- referred to as *sound processors*
Perhaps this is what OP's inquisitor was on about. W/little in the profile as well as the vagueness of this thread, it's hard to say.

maybe its just because so many people use modeling crap like the line 6 or vamp nowadays instead of searching for their own tone that people assume thats how everybody does it. im not exactly knocking that stuff, but too many people use it now as a shortcut and just end up sounding like everybody else.

I have one of these. I find that they work best in a vertical array, though.

I tried it horizontally once, and man was it a mess...just like the scientists predicted.

Good humor BS, (I like that acronym). OP, you obviously don't have a processor and if you sound good on your stuff, you don't need one.

Perhaps whoever asked you that is under the assumption you must have a processor to sound good, in which case, they need to work on their chops. In my own experience, I usually find processors to sound too...well...processed. It ain't natural, man. Swr's do have a distinct baked in voicing.....perhaps that qualifies as processed.
