Psyopus Bass Tone

Does anybody know what kind of amplification or effects/plugins (i know that should be under effects, but i didn't want to make 2 threads xd) were used to get the bass tone on psyopus latest album? I really like the tone and the amazing bass playing on that album. For an example, listen to The Burning Halo on youtube.

hey dude, that would be me on that album. i used the 6 string queen bee in my avatar for the whole album, only effects used were an MXR chorus pedal (the yellow one) and i think an MXR M80 distortion pedal. most of it was run direct, the secret track things at the end were live with the queen bee thru a trace elliot 410 rig that was mic'ed up.

glad you dig the album!

thanks man! i left the band about 2 years ago and they havent had a steady bassist since. chris is kinda taking a break from the psycho tech metal thing but im sure theyll be doing another album at some point. hopefully im on it! for now its just stoner doom for me, i spent 3 years playing as fast as possible so now im trying to play as slow as possible lol!

I hear that, man...

I went from playing techy crusty Pg.99/Reversal of Man/Breather Resist/Botch type heavieness... to garagey dreamy noise-pop

Yay, musical paradigm shifts!

Wow, even Michael Horn (?) has a talkbass account. PsyOpus does seem to have a revolving door at bass guitar, hopefully Chris gets someone that'll stick.

Great playing indeed!
